Braces need to be drilled into trim especially with the largers shades that we purchased. Other than that, easy installation, fits perfectly true to measuments given and easy up and down. My only negative is if they had offered a liner to block out the strings from the street side would have been better. Some HOAs restrict home owners to white on street side. Thankfully mine does not but the strings can be seen street side. Good quality, true to color, we purchased 6 shades and once we installed these ordered another outside mount for our door. Absolutely satisfied with purchase.

No, you don't need to subtract. If you provide the accurate internal window opening dimensions (accurate to 1/8 inches) for installation inside the window frame, we will adjust the size for you without requiring you to subtract anything.

Our upgraded version requires a minimum hole depth of 1.3 inches; other versions require a minimum hole depth of 1.6-2.3 inches depending on the style.
