Inside Mount vs. Outside Mount
Which One Should I Choose?
Before measuring, decide whether you'd like your shades installed inside or outside the window frame.
Inside Mount
✅ Measure the Depth Measure the frame depth at the top of the window. Most shades need at least 1.5" for an inside mount — minimum depth varies by shade type, so check the product page.
✅ Measure the Width Measure inside the frame at three points: top, middle, and bottom. Use the narrowest measurement, rounded down to the nearest 1/8".
📏Inside Mount:Please enter your exact Window Frame Width. Our factory will automatically deduct 1/4" from your entered width for a perfect custom fit.
✅ Measure the Height Measure inside the frame at three points: left, center, and right. Use the longest measurement, rounded down to the nearest 1/8".

Seeing Gaps? That's Normal.
Inside-mounted shades leave a thin light gap on each side — if that matters for your room, our Light Blocking Strips can seal it.
📏Outside Mount: Please enter this adjusted width when ordering. Your shade will be made exactly to the size you enter — no deductions.
✅ Measure Width Measure across the outside edges of the window frame. Add 2–4" to your measured width (1–2" per side) to minimize light gaps.
✅ Measure Height Measure from your mounting point (above the frame) down to your desired bottom position. If you want enough stack space above the window and an unobstructed view when the shade is raised, add 10"inches above the top of the window — adjust based on your actual setup.
Consider Stack Height
Depending on the shade size and fabric style, approximately 8"–10" of stacked fabric may remain visible, partially covering the upper portion of the glass.
