Very nice shade and I love how easy it is to install without drilling holes. I sometimes have trouble getting it to retract smoothly but the more I use it, the better I get at it. I'm not sure what the clear plastic strips included in the kit are for. We tried putting them on the shade like the video showed but then it wouldn't hang right so we just took them off, they broke in the process, but they evidently aren't required because the shade works OK without them. The shade sticks to the frame fine so far and it's actually quite pretty the way it filters the light.

Does a great job against the morning sun on my 4’ x 4’ window. Had to use hardware (which came with it) as the tension rod didn’t work well. Probably would work for a smaller window. I would purchase this one again.
No, you don't need to subtract. If you provide the accurate internal window opening dimensions (accurate to 1/8 inches) for installation inside the window frame, we will adjust the size for you without requiring you to subtract anything.

Our upgraded version requires a minimum hole depth of 1.3 inches; other versions require a minimum hole depth of 1.6-2.3 inches depending on the style.
